Bookbinding conference bursary

This summer I won a bursary to attend the Society of Bookbinders biannual seminar. This event focuses on training and education with demonstrations of innovative bookbinding techniques such as creative leather dyeing, double-boards leather binding, woven structure binding by experts in that field.

Alongside the bookbinding conference was an exhibition of design bookbindings, where copies of Robert Gibbings ‘Sweet Thames Run Softly’ were rebound. Despite binding the same book, the end results were completely different from each other.
