Spring & Summer workshops 2020
Update: Due to Covid-19, my workshops have been postponed until further notice.
Here is my schedule of bookbinding workshops for Spring and Summer 2020. I will be giving 4 public workshops, two in the West of Ireland and the other two in Dublin.
I teach bookbinding to all ages, levels and abilities. If you are interesting in having a one-to-one workshop, CPD training or something else, please contact me at eilis@foldedleaf.ie and I’d be happy to tailor something to suit your needs.
1. Simply sewn books
What: In this two-hour workshop, participants will create a variety of sewn books that can be used as poetry books, journals or sketchbooks.
Where: Ennis Book Club Festival, Co Clare

2. Durable portfolio workshop
What: In this two-day workshop, participants will make a highly personalised A3 portfolio. These portfolios are ideal for storing prints, drawings or photographs – any that needs to be stored flat or carried around safely.
Where: Graphic Studio Dublin
When: 10:00 – 4:00, Saturday 7th & Sunday 8th March

3. Bookbinding 101 - postponed
What: In this day-long workshop, participants will create a variety of folded books – no stitching required! Starting with the concertina book, we will build up on this binding to create unique books including a Japanese accordion book, a blizzard book and much more.
Where: National Print Museum, Dublin

4. The art of making books - postponed
What: A very special week of creating experimental artist’s books in the Burren. We will create sculptural book structures that use printed matter from nature as a starting point to create vibrant and textural printed artworks.
Where: The Burren College of Art
