Upcoming workshops 2019

Here is my schedule of bookbinding workshops for 2019. I will be giving 4 public workshops, two in Bantry as part of the West Cork Literary Festival and the other two in Dublin.

I teach bookbinding to all ages, levels and abilities. If you are interesting in having a one-to-one workshop, CPD training or something else, please contact me at eilis@foldedleaf.ie and I’d be happy to tailor something to suit your needs.

1. Bookbinding 101

What: In this two-hour workshop, participants will create a variety of folded books – no stitching required!

Where: Forest and Flock, Bantry, Co Cork

2. Children’s bookbinding workshop

What: In this one-and-a-half-hour workshop, you will create your own multiple-fold accordion book with the theme created using simple story development games.

Where: Bantry Library, Bantry, Co Cork

3. Creative book covers

What: In this two-day workshop, you will learn how to create striking covers for books, portfolios or boxes – and use the models made to make several single-section bindings for use as notebooks or journals.

Where: Graphic Studio Dublin
When: 10:00 – 4:00, Saturday 21st & Sunday 22nd September

4. Dos-à-dos bookbinding

What: In this one-day workshop, participants will create a sewn hardback book called a dos-à-dos book: a binding where two or more separate books are bound together. This unusual binding makes an excellent sketchbook, journal or artist’s book.

Where: National Print Museum
When: 10.30 - 16.30, Sunday 3rd November
